Job summary

RTX is seeking a highly driven Chief Engineer for the Miniature Air-Launched Decoy (MALD) program in Tucson, AZ. You will oversee in‑service sustainment, program execution, and potential new contracts, coordinating across IPTs and with customers to ensure timely, compliant technical and contractual deliverables.

The role requires a TS clearance, STEM background, and a track record leading complex systems engineering efforts in a multi‑discipline environment. 100% onsite in Tucson.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) is required.
• Experience with system development and design, requirements management, verification, system integration and test, and production is required.
• Experience in modular system architectures and product lines.
• Proven technical leadership and ability to develop work plans and drive execution.
• Experience leading engineering teams.
• Experience managing resources with multi-million-dollar annual budgets.
• Active and transferable U.S. government Top Secret clearance is required, citizenship is mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Ensure technical integrity and engineering execution to meet cost, schedule, and technical requirements.
• Serve as the primary technical point of contact with senior stakeholders.
• Influence customers on capabilities, risks, and architecture needs.
• Support capture of new business and influence roadmaps.
• Lead upgrades and system improvements.
• Drive continuous improvement in production environments and FRACAS activities.
• Engage with subcontractors to ensure product delivery.
• Direct a multi-disciplinary engineering team in product development and production.
• Provide technical advisory on Export/Import compliance.
