Job summary

Waterford Hotel Group seeks a Chief Engineer to lead the engineering team at the Connecticut Convention Center. The role oversees maintenance, safety, and operations across Center assets, ensuring high-quality facilities and guest comfort.

The ideal candidate will manage preventive maintenance, respond to emergencies, and coordinate with external contractors while maintaining compliance with safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• Maintenance experience in a convention center and meeting destination venue.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.
• Ability to work at heights of more than 30 ft.
• Ability to communicate via verbal, text, email in a positive and professional manner.
• Be able to work independently and in a team setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to the engineering team and oversee building assets to quality standards.
• Respond to emergencies and be on call 24/7.
• Coordinate schedules and projects at the center and ensure timely completion.
• Oversee preventive maintenance for HVAC, lighting, plumbing, and related systems.
• Ensure safety guidelines and PPE usage are followed.
