Job summary

The Grand Hyatt Deer Valley, part of Hyatt, seeks a Director of Engineering to lead the maintenance department and ensure the hotel’s smooth operation. You will manage safety, equipment upkeep, and capital projects while guiding a specialized team and coordinating with senior leadership.

Ideal candidates bring 6+ years in senior facility management, strong leadership, and a degree in Engineering/Facility Management.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to interact with people from diverse backgrounds
• 6+ years of progressive hotel or building management experience (typically at Hyatt)
• Pre-opening hotel experience preferred
• Service oriented with professional presentation skills
• 6+ years in a senior facility management role
• Engineering/Facility Management degree preferred

Responsibilities

• Review contracts and negotiate revisions and addenda with vendors, consultants, clients, suppliers and subcontractors
• Oversee maintenance of structures, facilities and systems
• Inspect and ensure safety compliance and train staff on safety procedures
• Plan and direct capital projects and remodeling efforts
• Manage budgeting, cost tracking and reporting
• Coordinate with corporate staff and external partners
• Lead and mentor engineering team to Hyatt service standards
• Respond to emergencies and coordinate with corporate maintenance on large projects
