Intellisense Systems, Inc. in Torrance, CA seeks a Chief Engineer to lead multi-disciplinary teams of engineers in delivering DoD programs. The role combines hands-on design work with leadership, proposal support, and cross-functional coordination to ensure simple, robust solutions.

The successful candidate will have 20+ years in engineering, strong systems engineering skills, and a track record of delivering complex aerospace/electronics projects in fast-paced environments.

Qualifications

• BS in an engineering discipline with 20+ years of experience.
• 5+ years in aerospace, defense electronics, or related high-reliability domains.
• Hands-on design and troubleshooting of electronic, electromechanical, or software systems.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and systems engineering skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, with experience presenting to customers and program managers.

Responsibilities

• Write SBIR proposals and support cost estimation for non-SBIR bids.
• Guide testing per MIL-STD-810, 461, 704, DO-178 across multiple programs.
• Prepare customer deliverables and certification documents (SFR/SRR/PDR/CDR).
• Engage in hands-on design, troubleshooting, and problem-solving.
• Share lessons learned and apply proven design elements to new products.
• Collaborate with COR/PMs to discuss schedule and cost.
