Job summary

Intellisense Systems, Inc. in Torrance, CA is seeking a Chief Engineer to lead and directly contribute to the design and verification of complex DoD programs, guiding a multi-disciplinary team of electrical, mechanical, firmware, and software engineers.

You will drive technical strategy, ensure robust testing to MIL-STD standards, mentor engineers, and coordinate proposals, costing, and program reviews while balancing schedule and cost in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.

Qualifications

• BS in an engineering discipline with 20+ years of relevant experience.
• 5+ years in aerospace, defense electronics, mission systems or related high‑reliability domains.
• Strong hands-on design and troubleshooting across electronic, electromechanical and software systems.

Responsibilities

• Write SBIR and non‑SBIR proposals with costing support.
• Guide testing efforts to MIL-STD standards across multiple programs.
• Support creation and presentation of customer deliverables for reviews and certifications.
• Engage in hands-on design, troubleshooting, and problem solving as needed.
• Assert lessons learned and proven design elements in new designs and products.
• Communicate schedule and cost with COR or Program Manager.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
