Intellisense Systems, Inc. seeks an Embedded Systems Test Engineer to join our Tactical Systems Department in Torrance, CA, to test rugged military hardware for air, land, and sea. You will develop tests, fixtures, and automation while collaborating with senior engineers on robust solutions.

The role requires hands-on testing, environmental and EMI/EMC/ESD testing, and strong embedded C/Python skills. This on-site position offers growth within a fast-growing Southern California technology

Qualifications

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or Computer Engineering with microcontroller focus.
• 2+ years in a technical field demonstrating organizational and time-management skills.
• Proficiency in electronics hardware, microcontrollers, embedded C, and Python.
• Experience with circuit board schematics.
• Experience with microcontrollers and/or microprocessors.
• Experience with electronic lab equipment (oscilloscopes, power supplies, multimeters, logic analyzers).
• Experience with digital serial interfaces I2C, SPI, UART.

Responsibilities

• Develop test plans, procedures, and reports with clear analysis and next steps.
• Work with a multi-disciplinary team to develop automated tests and test fixtures.
• Coordinate with program managers on estimates, timelines, and testing solutions.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to improve test methods and achieve 100% product test.
• Troubleshoot boards, hardware, and embedded code; perform root cause analysis.
• Document procedures, results, and conclusions in detail.
• Perform environmental, EMI/EMC/ESD and other military-standard testing.

We’re seeking a motivated Embedded Systems Test Engineer to join our growing Tactical Systems Department to support the development of cutting-edge, ruggedized military hardware for air, land, and sea. This department focuses on tightly integrated, compact sensing and computing technologies to deliver mission critical information at the edge. Our products have been deployed and proven across all seven continents in the harshest environments on the planet.

This is an on-site role located in Torrance, CA.

Responsibilities

• Develop test plans, perform test procedures, and create test reports that provide thoughtful and conclusive analysis, next steps, and innovative ideas.
• Work on a multi-faceted team to perform data analysis, develop automated test code and software, and design test fixtures for both upcoming products as well as new technological research.
• Cooperate and communicate with the program manager on time estimation, timelines, and technical solutions related to testing.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to create more effective and efficient test methods that enable 100% test of our products and prototypes.
• Troubleshoot circuit boards, hardware, embedded microcontroller code, etc. and perform Root Cause Analysis.
• Establish test methods and provide detailed documentation of procedures, results, and conclusions.
• Perform environmental, EMI/EMC/ESD, and other military standard testing in external and internal lab facilities.

Requirements

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or Computer Engineering with a focus on microcontrollers.
• 2+ years of professional or academic experience in a technical field that demonstrates strong organizational, time management, and decision-making skills.
• Proficiency in electronics hardware, microcontrollers, embedded C, and Python.
• Experience with circuit board schematics.
• Experience with microcontrollers and/or microprocessors.
• Experience with electronic lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, multimeters, and logic analyzers.
• Experience with digital serial interfaces such as I2C, SPI, UART, etc.
• Excellent computer literacy and working knowledge of MS Office and Atlassian Tools (Jira, Confluence).
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written) including presenting ideas, test plans, and technical knowledge internally to a diverse team in engineering, science, and other non-technical backgrounds.
• A willingness to own and perform testing beyond embedded code such as power supplies, mixed signal circuits, and physics experiments.

Nice to Have

• Knowledge in design standards and interfaces with respect to MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461 testing.
• Experience developing and maintaining test plans and reports to demonstrate meeting customer-provided or -derived system requirements.
• Working knowledge of coding best practices and standards.
• Expert in GIT and/or Bitbucket for repository.

Pay Range

$90,000-$130,000 (However, base salary for this position will vary based on your skills, qualifications, and experience)
