Job summary

True Anomaly is seeking a Chief Engineer to lead the technical development of a next-generation missile defense program. You will define the engineering baseline across interceptors, spacecraft, and ground software, guiding bold solutions with rigor and mission focus.

You will manage end-to-end ground segments, architect scalable architectures, ensure DoD-aligned RMF security, and mentor a multi-disciplinary team across diverse sites in the U.S.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in CS or ECE required.
• 15+ years in large-scale software with 5+ years as a chief architect.
• Experience with real-time C2 or fire control systems.
• U.S. citizenship; eligible for DoD clearances.
• Proven leadership of multi-disciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Define and own end-to-end ground segment architecture for a large C2 system.
• Develop scalability, resiliency, security, and autonomy across ground assets.
• Ensure interoperability with satellites, comms, and battle management.
• Architect modular, vendor-agnostic interfaces for rapid evolution.
• Lead real-time command and control system development and ops.
• Oversee data pipelines, telemetry, decision algorithms, visualization.
• Align cybersecurity with RMF and mission assurance standards.
• Drive simulation, hardware‑in‑the‑loop, and prototyping.
• Serve as senior technical authority; mentor engineers.
• Collaborate with systems engineering, mission ops, and hardware teams.
