Job summary

True Anomaly is seeking a Chief Engineer to lead the technical development of a next-generation missile defense program in space. You will architect solutions for autonomous re-entry, hypersonic GNC, and multi-agent orchestration across interceptors, spacecraft, and ground software.

You will define the engineering baseline, guide cross‑functional teams, and interface with government stakeholders to ensure mission success. Centennial, CO or Long Beach, CA onsite.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in large-scale, mission-critical software
• Experience as chief architect or equivalent
• Experience designing real-time C2 or fire control systems
• Deep expertise in distributed systems, autonomy, real-time decision-making
• Familiarity with DoD software standards and RMF/Zero Trust security
• Strong networking, middleware, and high-availability knowledge
• Proven leadership of multi-disciplinary engineering teams
• U.S. citizen and DoD clearance eligibility

Responsibilities

• Define end-to-end ground segment architecture for a large-scale C2 system
• Enforce scalability, resiliency, security, and autonomy
• Ensure interoperability with host satellites and other systems
• Architect modular frameworks for multi-vendor integration
• Lead real-time C2 data pipelines and mission visualization
• Oversee RMF-based cybersecurity architecture
• Mentor engineers and collaborate with mission ops and hardware teams
