Compass Group USA's ESFM division is seeking a Chief Engineer to lead on-site engineering for a Greencastle, PA Amazon facility. You will oversee hard services for high-density environments, ensure safe, reliable operation, and provide tech leadership with a focus on regulatory compliance and business continuity.

You'll manage staff, coordinate with vendors, and develop preventative maintenance plans across plant utilities, electrical, boilers, hydraulics, and mechanical equipment, while

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering; military experience considered a plus.
• Experience reading electrical schematics, mechanical and piping blueprints.
• Proficient in Windows-based office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Knowledge of plant maintenance including electrical, boilers, hydraulics, compressed air, and mechanical equipment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee safety of all operating equipment within the facility.
• Develop and train staff in plant and emergency procedures.
• Procure parts for routine preventative and emergency repairs.
• Maintain relationships with vendors.
• Develop and implement a plant-wide Preventative Maintenance schedule.
• Manage departmental budget focusing on parts, supplies, and labor.

Job Summary

The Chief Engineer serves as the on-site engineering leader with full accountability for the delivery of Integrated Facilities Management (IFM) services, including hard services supporting high-density computer environments. This role provides technical leadership, team management, and operational oversight to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient facility performance.

This position supports an Amazon facility, and is accountable for maintaining operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and business continuity across critical building infrastructure

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the safety of all operating equipment within the facility
• Develop and train all staff in plant and emergency procedures
• Handle the procurement of all repair parts for routine preventative, and emergency repairs
• Develop and maintain relationships with vendors
• Develop a plant wide Preventative maintenance schedule for all building, process equipment, and all plant utilities
• Maintain the departmental budget with focus on parts, supplies and labor management
• Assure compliance with all wastewater and emissions standards
• Oversee outside contractors in the repairs and upkeep of plant equipment
• Available for off-site, plants startups and special projects

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or military experience is preferred
• Ability to communicate effectively in written format and oral presentations
• Ability to multi-task and establish priorities
• Ability to maintain organization in a changing environment
• Exhibits initiative, responsibility, flexibility and leadership
• Must be capable of reading electrical schematics, mechanical, and plumbing blue prints
• Proficient in the use of Windows based office software including but not limited to Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
• Good working knowledge all aspects of plant maintenance to include but not limited to; Electrical, Boilers, Hydraulics, Compressed Air, Mechanical Equipment
