Job summary

Arlo Hotels, an independent lifestyle hotel, is actively seeking a Director of Engineering in Washington, D.C. to lead the engineering team in maintenance and capital planning for HVAC, electrical, and building systems.

The role requires an inspirational leader with at least 5 years in hotel maintenance leadership, strong English communication, and coordination with internal teams and external vendors. Salary ranges between $115,000 and $130,000 with potential for growth and a focus on safety

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years building maintenance leadership experience in a hotel/resort setting.
• Must communicate professionally in English, written and verbal.
• Experience with Microsoft Office and Google Apps preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversees the Engineering department and Life Safety aspects throughout the building.
• Considers safety, maintenance planning, and guest experience in all decisions.
• Leads pre-shift meetings and staff development.
• Manages preventive maintenance and compliance with codes and standards.
• Liaises with third-party contracted labor and partners in construction/renovation meetings.
