Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Chief Engineer to steer engineering strategy and execution across all AEGIS technologies for NASA at MSFC or KSC. You will guide modernization initiatives, shape the technology roadmap, and lead a large cross-disciplinary team to ensure mission-focused IT services evolve with NASA needs.

The role demands a trusted technical leader with broad enterprise IT experience across data centers, cloud, networking, VoIP, and cybersecurity, plus strong collaboration with NASA and Leidos

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 12+ years of relevant experience.
• At least 7 years leading a large engineering team in IT.
• Strong leadership, detail oriented, able to meet deadlines.
• Excellent analytical skills.
• Strong budgeting and organizational skills.
• Experience in strategic planning and customer relationships.
• Experience with agile development and ETC/EAC estimation.
• Ability to brief NASA and Leidos senior leadership effectively.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering across all AEGIS technologies including data centers, cloud, networking, VoIP, cybersecurity, and collaboration services.
• Build relationships with NASA and Leidos senior leaders to align with priorities.
• Assess enterprise baselines and recommend modernization improvements.
• Translate objectives into actionable engineering plans, milestones, and outcomes.
• Oversee design, development, integration, testing, deployment and logistics.
• Maintain visibility of status, risks, and decisions across projects.
