Job summary

KBR is seeking a Chief Engineer to provide technical leadership across naval aviation, mission systems, digital engineering, test and evaluation, and future capabilities.

This position serves as the senior technical authority for the Mission Readiness Operating Unit, driving engineering excellence, technical governance, innovation, and solution development across multiple programs and strategic growth efforts.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or related technical discipline.
• Minimum 15 years of engineering and technical leadership with DoD programs.
• Experience leading complex programs and multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience in Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Test & Evaluation, Aviation Systems, Mission Systems, Digital Engineering.
• Experience with business development, capture management, and proposals.
• Strong communication and leadership skills; ability to influence decisions across organizations.
• Active Secret security clearance or the ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the senior technical authority across the Mission Readiness Operating Unit; lead engineering strategy and standards.
• Provide independent technical assessments for major program decisions and strategic initiatives.
• Lead technical governance activities, risk evaluations, and quality assurance processes.
• Support business growth by leading technical solution development for strategic pursuits and proposals.
• Collaborate with capture teams, program managers, SMEs, and leadership on innovative approaches.
• Promote collaboration across multiple engineering portfolios and reuse of architectures.
• Develop and implement MBSE, digital thread, and digital twin strategies; guide IRAD efforts.
• Mentor engineers and support recruiting and professional development activities.
