Job summary

JLL is seeking a Critical Environment Chief Engineer in Tempe, AZ to lead mission-critical facilities operations. You will provide advanced engineering direction, oversee infrastructure like UPS, generators, cooling, and power distribution, and ensure uptime.

You will mentor regional managers, coordinate vendor contracts, and drive capital planning. This role requires 15+ years in the field, a relevant engineering degree, and willingness to travel up to 30%.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in critical facilities/data center engineering with 5+ years in senior leadership.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Expert knowledge of UPS, generators, switchgear, cooling and power distribution.
• Proven track record leading large technical teams and complex projects.
• Travel up to 30% for oversight and vendor engagements.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement technical strategies for critical infrastructure; serve as the technical authority.
• Oversee UPS, generators, switchgear, cooling, and power distribution; lead root-cause analyses.
• Mentor regional engineering managers and lead engineers; develop advanced training.
• Advise clients and executives; manage OEM relationships and vendor contracts.
• Lead capital planning for major infrastructure investments; prepare technical specs.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety protocols; conduct audits.
• Research and evaluate new technologies; drive sustainability and energy efficiency.
