Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a senior engineering leader to head a multi-disciplinary team delivering R&D across Battle Management, Advanced Autonomy, JADC2, and related domains.

You will set technical direction, coordinate across business units, and serve as the principal interface with customers and company leadership while ensuring engineering standards, risk management, and TRB governance are upheld.

Qualifications

BS in STEM with 16+ years of relevant experience, MS with 14+, or PhD with 12+ years of experience.
Experience in air vehicle flight autonomy, mission autonomy, BMC architectures/Implementations, or networking tech.
Experience interfacing with customers and company leadership.
Ability to coordinate across multiple BUs, industry partners, and customer community.
Active US Government Secret or higher clearance with recent background investigation.

Job description

Lead a multi-disciplinary engineering team executing research and development projects within the Battle Management Operating Unit
Conceive, develop, demonstrate, and transition technologies in Advanced Autonomy, JADC2, and BAST domains
Serve as technical authority for the Operating Unit, providing technical direction and leadership to internally funded and contracted activities
Define and control technical requirements and ensure technical coordination and horizontal integration across projects
Serve as principal technical interface with customers and company senior leadership
Ensure programs adhere to sound engineering principles, company policies, procedures, and quality standards
Oversee technical performance measures within allocated cost and schedule resources
Chair the Technical Review Board (TRB)
Support program managers in risk and opportunity management by identifying and owning technical-performance risks
Mentor technical contributors in applying systems engineering principles, tools, and techniques

Requirements

Bachelor of Science degree in a related Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) discipline and 16 years relevant professional/military experience; OR a Master of Science degree in a related STEM discipline and 14 years of relevant experience; OR a PhD in a related STEM discipline and 12 years of relevant experience
Demonstrated professional experience related to air vehicle flight autonomy, mission autonomy, battle management command & control architectures/implementations, or networking and communications technologies
Demonstrated experience with interfacing with customers and company leadership
Experience integrating multiple engineering specialties and working across multiple Business Units, industry partners, and customer community
Active US Government Secret or higher clearance with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation
Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (SAP) and TS / SCI clearance within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs
Ability to travel up to 15%
U.S. Citizenship is required for positions with a government clearance and certain other restricted positions
