Blue Origin seeks a Chief Engineer for ML, Physical AI, and Autonomy to lead a focused team in developing technologies for our next-generation space vehicles. You will define simulation pipelines and train models for autonomous operations on lunar missions.

The ideal candidate possesses an M.S. degree and over 12 years of relevant experience in robotics or ML systems. This role offers a compensation range of $253,878 to $355,429 annually.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience developing autonomy, robotics, or ML systems for real‑world deployment.
• Deep expertise in AI/ML models and training techniques for physical AI.
• Excellent technical communication; able to brief executives, customers, and engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and training of ML models for autonomy, perception, and control in space applications.
• Define the simulation and training pipeline for lunar surface and in‑space applications.
• Champion V&V, runtime assurance, uncertainty quantification, and safety cases for space systems.
