Job summary

Offshore Aviation Group seeks a Chief Engineer for the OAG Responder, a 3,000 HP, 498 GT vessel. You’ll oversee preventive maintenance, diagnose systems, manage inventories, and ensure MARPOL compliance.

You will supervise Assistant Engineers, coordinate shipyard periods, and maintain class/USCG records while upholding safety and operational excellence aboard the vessel. This role requires top security clearances and strong maritime engineering leadership in a defense-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• MMC national officer endorsement as Chief Engineer-Limited for 3,000 HP or more.
• STCW Chief Engineer Officer at management level, motor range as specified.
• Current STCW Basic Training certification.
• Current STCW Advanced Firefighting certification.
• Current USCG Medical Certification (STCW).
• Valid TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential).
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. DoD Secret Security Clearance.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
• Manage spare parts, consumables, and onboard inventories.
• Oversee fuel, lube, and waste handling, ensuring MARPOL and environmental compliance.

• STCW Chief Engineer Officer, management level, motor 750 kW/1,000 HP to 3,000 kW/4,000 HP, or 3,000 kW/4,000 HP and above
• Current STCW Basic Training
• Current STCW Advanced Firefighting
• Current USCG Medical Certification (STCW)
• Valid TWIC
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. DoD Secret Security Clearance
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
