Job summary

Core Group Resources is seeking an experienced Assistant Engineer for an offshore support vessel in the Gulf. You will assist the Chief Engineer with safe operation, maintenance, and reliability of machinery and auxiliary systems while standing engine room watches.

The role focuses on hands-on maintenance of diesel engines, generators, pumps, and associated equipment, troubleshooting issues, supporting bunkering and fuel transfers, and keeping meticulous maintenance records to ensure continuous

Qualifications

• MMC is required for the role.
• USCG Medical is required prior to deployment.
• Passport is required for offshore travel.
• TWIC is required for access to US ports.

Responsibilities

• Stand engine room watches and monitor propulsion and auxiliary equipment.
• Perform planned and corrective maintenance on diesel engines, generators, pumps, compressors, and associated machinery.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues and assist with equipment repairs.
• Support bunkering, fuel transfers, lube oil management, and engine room housekeeping.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and comply with company safety and environmental procedures.
• Assist with emergency response duties and help ensure the engine room remains operationally ready throughout the hitch.
