Job summary

Dimension Hospitality Group is seeking a hands-on Chief Engineer to lead the hotel maintenance department and oversee all building systems, equipment, and property upkeep.

You will ensure safety, preventive maintenance, and repair standards while supervising a team of maintenance professionals, coordinating with hotel leadership, and managing budgets and vendors.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a maintenance or engineering team in a hotel or similar setting.
• Strong knowledge of building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing and life safety.
• Ability to plan, prioritize and supervise multiple work streams while ensuring safety.
• Hands-on approach with the ability to guide and train staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the maintenance and engineering team.
• Oversee daily repairs, work orders, and preventive maintenance schedules.
• Ensure proper operation of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and life safety systems.
• Conduct regular property inspections and identify maintenance needs.
• Manage department budgeting, inventory, and vendor relationships.
• Ensure compliance with safety, fire, and regulatory standards.
• Support maintenance team with troubleshooting and project work.
• Respond quickly to urgent issues and guest impact situations.
• Coordinate effectively with hotel leadership and all departments.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized engineering shop and work areas.
