About the Role
As Chief Engineer, you will lead our engineering TEAM and oversee the maintenance, safety, and overall operation of the hotel's facilities, equipment, and building systems. You'll play a key role in ensuring our property remains safe, comfortable, efficient, and well-maintained for both our guests and associates.
This position combines hands-on technical expertise with team leadership, requiring someone who can manage preventative maintenance, coordinate repairs and projects, and lead the engineering team while providing exceptional service.
Schedule: Nights, weekends, and holidays are required.

Responsibilities
As Chief Engineer, you will:
- Lead, supervise, and support the hotel engineering and maintenance team
- Oversee the daily maintenance, repair, and upkeep of the hotel, including guest rooms, public areas, building systems, and grounds
- Develop and maintain an effective preventative maintenance program
- Ensure preventative maintenance tasks and inspections are completed accurately and on schedule
- Coordinate and oversee maintenance projects, repairs, renovations, and improvements
- Prioritize maintenance requests and ensure timely resolution of issues
- Inspect the property regularly to identify safety, maintenance, and repair needs
- Maintain and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and other building systems
- Ensure all equipment, tools, and machinery are operated safely and maintained properly
- Assign responsibilities and provide direction to engineering and maintenance associates
- Train and develop team members on proper maintenance procedures, equipment operation, and safety practices
- Maintain required records, logs, inspections, and documentation
- Ensure compliance with applicable safety regulations, codes, and hotel standards
- Work closely with the General Manager and Operations Manager to support smooth hotel operations
- Respond to guest and operational maintenance concerns in a timely and professional manner
- Assist with emergency situations and building-related issues as needed
- Maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment
Requirements
- 3-4 years of Engineering or Maintenance Management experience, preferably in a luxury or full-service hotel environment
- Previous hotel engineering experience strongly preferred
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's Degree or technical/trade school experience preferred
- Must possess any government-required licenses, certificates, or permits applicable to the position
- Strong knowledge of building maintenance, mechanical systems, and equipment
- Ability to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain a variety of building and grounds equipment
- Ability to safely operate mechanical equipment, hand tools, and power tools
- Demonstrated ability to train and develop others on proper repair and maintenance procedures
- Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to prioritize multiple projects and maintenance needs
- Ability to work independently while effectively leading a TEAM
- Excellent English communication skills, including the ability to read, write, and speak fluently
- Bilingual skills are a plus
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required
