Job description

In the heart of downtown Nashville—where Music City’s energy runs late, guest expectations run high, and every detail matters—you’ll be the force behind a hotel that feels effortless.

This is an opportunity to lead the systems, spaces, and people that keep a high-performing hotel operating at its best. From the moment guests arrive for a concert-filled weekend, a convention, or a business trip, they should experience comfort, safety, and the dependable hospitality Hampton is known for. You’ll make that happen—often behind the scenes, always at the center of the operation.

Build An Operation That Never Misses A Beat

You’ll own the big picture and the fine print: the physical plant, preventive maintenance strategy, life‑safety programs, vendor partnerships, capital planning, and the daily details that protect the guest experience. This is a leadership role for someone who sees a complex operation not as a list of problems, but as a performance waiting to be conducted.

  • Direct all facility, maintenance, engineering, and grounds operations to keep the hotel safe, polished, efficient, and guest‑ready.
  • Develop and execute preventive maintenance programs that safeguard equipment, extend asset life, and minimize disruption.
  • Maintain a sharp focus on life‑safety standards, emergency preparedness, inspections, drills, and regulatory compliance.
  • Lead repairs, renovations, and capital projects from bid process through contractor oversight, ensuring exceptional work, sound value, and operational continuity.
  • Manage maintenance agreements, service providers, inventory, tools, and equipment with discipline and commercial awareness.
  • Partner with hotel leadership to anticipate needs, solve challenges quickly, and protect one of the most important assets in downtown Nashville.
Lead A Team People Want To Join

Great engineering teams do more than fix what breaks. They anticipate, improve, teach, and take pride in creating a place where guests can relax and associates can thrive. You’ll set that standard.

  • Recruit, develop, coach, and inspire a skilled engineering team.
  • Create a culture of ownership, responsiveness, craftsmanship, and mutual respect.
  • Train associates on safe work practices, equipment operation, preventive maintenance, and emergency procedures.
  • Empower your team to bring solutions forward, grow their expertise, and take pride in a job well done.
Bring Financial Acumen To The Toolbox

You understand that operational excellence and financial stewardship belong in the same conversation. You’ll manage the department budget with the same care you bring to a critical repair—balancing cost, quality, timing, and long‑term asset protection.

  • Develop and manage the engineering and maintenance budget.
  • Prepare capital expenditure plans and prioritize projects that strengthen operations and the guest experience.
  • Control expenses, evaluate vendor performance, negotiate service agreements, and identify smart efficiencies.
  • Deliver clear updates and recommendations to hotel leadership and ownership stakeholders.
Why Nashville, Why Hampton, Why Now

Downtown Nashville is a city in motion: live music, major events, business travelers, weekend explorers, and the unmistakable pulse of Lower Broadway. At Hampton Inn & Suites Nashville Downtown, you’ll help deliver the warm, reliable, welcoming stay that gives guests a place to recharge between every unforgettable moment.

You’ll join a hospitality environment where practical expertise is valued, leadership is visible, and no two days feel exactly the same. If you’re equal parts strategist, problem‑solver, mentor, and hands‑on operator, this is your stage.
