Job summary

Flow is seeking a Chief Engineer to oversee building and grounds maintenance, security, and safety across a multi-property portfolio in Miami. The role includes supervising projects, reviewing contracts, inspecting work quality, and training staff on safety protocols.

You will lead a facilities team, ensure adherence to standards, and drive safe, efficient operations aligned with Flow’s community-focused living experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Class A high-rise multifamily buildings.
  • Proficiency in English; Spanish a plus.
  • Knowledge of mechanical and fire systems; proficient with MS Office and project planning tools.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage maintenance schedules for direct reports and contracts.
  • Delegate tasks from work order systems to dedicated teams.
  • Set and track KPIs for facilities management and project status.
  • Review repair and maintenance proposals and ensure quality and compliance.
  • Communicate workplace safety precautions effectively.
  • Recommend design or modifications to improve operations and cost efficiency.

About The Role

As the Chief Engineer, your primary responsibility will be to oversee building and grounds maintenance, ensuring security, emergency preparedness, and cleanliness in accordance with company policies. You will supervise projects, review maintenance contracts, conduct inspections, evaluate work quality, provide maintenance recommendations, and train employees on workplace safety. As a Facilities manager, you will play a crucial role in maintaining a well-managed and secure work environment for all.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and manage maintenance schedules for direct reports and contracts
  • Manage inbound requests from work order management systems and effectively delegate tasks to dedicated teams
  • Drive performance by setting and tracking KPIs for the facilities management teamMaintain project status by scheduling and organizing internal and external workflows of facilities projects
  • Meet project deadlines with attention to detail, accuracy, and within the allocated budget
  • Assist Head of Facilities Management in reviewing and approving repair and maintenance proposals, evaluating completed work to ensure high quality and adherence to standards, and provide recommendations for maintenance modifications based on assessments
  • Ensure effective communication of workplace safety precautions
  • Recommend maintenance, mechanical, electrical, and facility design modifications in efforts to promote operational and financial efficiency
  • Efficiently handle incoming maintenance requests from Property Management and partner with internal teams to identify and implement effective problem-solving strategies
  • Implement audit and control systems to ensure compliance with statutory requirements, policies, and contractual obligations
  • Lead and supervise the facility management team in accomplishing maintenance programs, ensuring optimal conditions, appearance, and operations both inside and outside the premises
  • Implement ongoing contract review programs to proactively assess the needs of clients, tenants, and occupants, resolving issues to the mutual benefit of all stakeholders
  • Ensure that facility management staff consistently delivers positive and prompt responses to requests from clients and building tenants
  • Prepare and deliver consolidated reports encompassing budgets, financial reports, contracts, expenditures, and purchase orders relevant to the facilities
Ideal Background
  • Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience
  • A minimum 5 years of relevant experience working in Class A high-rise multifamily residential buildings
  • Working knowledge of Mechanical and Fire Systems Experience working with Google Chrome, Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel)
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Project or alternate project planning tools such as: AutoCAD, Revit, BIM360, Adobe Suite, Bluebeam and Sketch Up, or related softwares preferred
  • Proficiency in English
  • Proficiency in Spanish is a plus
