Job summary

ArmorWorks Enterprises, Inc. is seeking a Chief Engineer to lead the design of armor, blast attenuating seats, and related technologies for ground vehicles, aircraft, and security infrastructure.

You will guide prototype builds, testing, and production transition, while directing technical documentation for CDRLs/SDRLS and trade studies. The role requires autonomous operation, with responsibilities spanning design reviews, risk analyses, and cross-functional mentorship to grow a high-performing

Qualifications

• Experience leading design of armored and defense-related systems.
• Ability to develop and review technical documents to support CDRLs/SDRLS.
• Proven track record in trade studies and risk assessments.

Responsibilities

• Managing and/or assisting with the design and development of new technologies and products using SolidWorks. (30%)
• Development/Review of technical documents (design reviews, trade studies, test plans/reports, etc.). (30%)
• Oversee the maintenance of legacy production products and standard operating procedures/processes. (20%)
• Assist with bid and proposal efforts. (20%)

Overview

The Chief Engineer is responsible for leading and creating product designs for internally or externally funded research and development programs, including armor, blast attenuating seats, and other technologies for ground vehicles, aircraft, and infrastructure security needs. The Chief Engineer ensures new products meet specified requirements and oversees prototype build, qualification testing, and transition to production. The Chief Engineer develops and/or reviews technical documents to support CDRLs/SDRLS, design reviews, testing, requirements tracking, and trade studies, bids and proposals. The Chief Engineer develops key performance matrices for development projects, standard operating procedures, and supports ArmorWorks’ business development team. The position requires autonomous operation with minimal oversight and a commitment to growing team members.
