Job summary

Our client, a drilling and construction contractor, seeks an Electronic Engineer to join an Offshore Fleet operating Worldwide. You will perform maintenance, fault finding, and repair of onboard electronic and electrical systems, and support vessel automation, PLCs, instrumentation, and communications.

Requirements include a degree in Electronic/Electrical/Automation or equivalent, offshore/marine experience, good English, and the ability to work in a multicultural offshore environment.

Qualifications

  • Degree or Diploma in Electronic/Electrical/Automation/Telecommunications or equivalent.
  • Offshore, marine, oil & gas, or heavy industrial maintenance experience preferred.
  • Strong troubleshooting across electronic, electrical, automation, and communications.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance, fault finding, and repair of onboard electronic and electrical systems.
  • Support vessel automation, PLCs, instrumentation, telecommunications, and control systems.
  • Monitor and maintain power generation and distribution equipment.
  • Execute preventive and corrective maintenance according to maintenance plans.
  • Ensure compliance with HSE, Permit to Work, and electrical safety procedures.
  • Manage spare parts and maintain maintenance records and technical documentation.
  • Support emergency response activities and contribute to vessel readiness.

Information about the job:
  • Position: Electronic Engineer.
  • Project: Offshore Fleet.
  • Location: Worldwide.
  • Rotation: 35/35 days on/off or 56/28 on/off.
  • Salary: Please confirm your realistic expectations when applying in USD/GBP/EUR. This will be discussed with the right candidate.
  • Contract start: TBA.
  • Contract duration: 12 months (renewable).
  • Insurance: Provided by the Company.
  • Employer: Our client, a drilling and construction contractor.
Requirements/ Qualifications/ Competence:
  • Degree or Diploma in Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Telecommunications, or equivalent.
  • Previous offshore, marine, oil & gas, or heavy industrial maintenance experience.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills on electronic, electrical, automation, and communication systems.
  • Knowledge of PLCs, instrumentation, data networks, and industrial control systems.
  • Good command of English and ability to work in a multicultural offshore environment.
Preferred Experience:
  • Offshore Construction Vessels (OCVs).
  • Heavy Lift Vessels.
  • Pipelay Vessels.
  • Subsea Construction Vessels.
  • Dynamic Positioning (DP) systems.
  • AMOS or other CMMS platforms.
  • Offshore telecommunications and IT infrastructure.
  • Fire & Gas systems and vessel automation technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform maintenance, fault finding, and repair of onboard electronic and electrical systems.
  • Support vessel automation, PLC, instrumentation, telecommunications, and control systems.
