Riot Platforms, Inc. seeks a Senior Vice President of Environment, Health, and Safety to lead a global EHS strategy for AI and hyperscale data center construction and operations.

The role interfaces with engineering, design, operations and executives to embed safety across development and deployment. Requirements include a bachelor’s in electrical engineering, CSP certification, 18+ years in EHS leadership, and 5+ years in global programs for complex facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical field required; Master’s degree preferred.
• Certified Safety Professional (CSP) required.
• Extensive EHS leadership experience in high‑risk environments and complex portfolios.
• Strong ability to audit, challenge, and collaborate with engineers and operations leaders.

Responsibilities

• Establish and lead enterprise EHS strategy, standards, and governance for AI, hyperscale data center and crypto mining construction and operations.
• Set electrical safety standards covering NFPA 70E, arc flash mitigation, LOTO, energized work controls, and high/low voltage switching procedures.
• Oversee EHS governance for substations, generator yards, UPS, and AI server environments with advanced cooling and chemicals.
• Direct EHS frameworks for concurrent heavy civil construction with live facilities and ensure cross‑category compliance.
• Lead contractor qualification, onboarding, auditing, incident tracking, and corrective action across thousands of partners.
• Embed design‑for‑safety into modular data center blueprints and deployment workflows with engineering teams.
• Drive environmental permitting and compliance for diesel emissions, water use, refrigerants, and acoustics.
• Deploy analytics to monitor indicators, present risk trends to executives, and drive investigations and preventive actions.
