Job summary

Fairyland seeks a strategic Senior Director of Education & Community Engagement to lead education programs, youth development initiatives, community partnerships, and volunteer engagement. This executive will shape curricula, cultural celebrations, and theatre education while aligning with Fairyland’s Youth Development Arc and mission.

The role requires building trusted relationships with schools, families, educators, and partners, and translating vision into measurable, accessible programs

Qualifications

• Seven or more years in educational programming, youth development, or community engagement.
• Minimum two years in early childhood education or related field.
• Three+ years of supervisory experience managing teams.
• Proven ability to design, launch, manage and evaluate educational programs.
• Experience leading a large youth-focused program (10+ week, 200+ campers).
• Strong communication, storytelling, and public speaking skills.
• Commitment to equity, accessibility and inclusion.

Responsibilities

• Lead curricula, programs, and learning experiences for families, schools and community members.
• Strategize and oversee education and community engagement portfolio, including camps and theatre education.
• Ensure programming reflects Fairyland's mission and Youth Development Arc.
• Develop cultural celebrations and events with diverse representation.
• Recruit and contract performers and artists for events.
• Establish measurement practices to assess impact and inform decisions.
• Foster partnerships with schools, nonprofits and community organizations.
• Oversee volunteers and volunteer programs and reports.
