Job summary

Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Washington (BGCGW) seeks a Chief Development Officer to lead the organization's total revenue portfolio—gifts, grants, partnerships, and earned income—shaping strategy, systems, and a high-performing team to drive sustainable growth.

The CDO will oversee top donor portfolios, build a disciplined pipeline, and collaborate with the CEO, Finance, Programs, and the Board to forecast revenue and steward resources effectively.

Qualifications

• Ten+ years of nonprofit resource development leadership.
• Proven record closing six- and seven-figure gifts.
• Experience leading a marketing and communications function and building a brand.
• Bachelor's degree required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive, multi-year revenue plan by stream.
• Own the full revenue portfolio: gifts, grants, and earned income.
• Lead the shift toward recurring, contracted sources; report to CEO and Board.
• Build a culture of philanthropy across the organization.
• Personally cultivate and steward top donors and prospects.
• Establish a grants pipeline and manage grants staff.
