Girls Inc. in New York, NY is seeking a Chief Development Officer to lead a comprehensive fund development program. Hybrid work arrangement requires in-person collaboration two days a week with senior leadership.

The role drives philanthropy across individuals, foundations, corporations, and government, shaping strategies, budgets and donor stewardship. A seasoned fundraiser with leadership experience is essential to advance the Girls Inc. mission.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in diversified fundraising with leadership roles
• Advanced degree in organizational development, nonprofit/public administration, marketing or business
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills; build relationships with donors, board and staff
• Proven ability to articulate the case for support and represent the organization publicly

Responsibilities

• Lead and direct a comprehensive fund development plan to secure unrestricted and restricted income
• Set high philanthropy standards with CEO and Board
• Develop short- and long-term fundraising strategies for individuals, foundations, corporations, and government agencies
• Formulate and monitor all fund development programs including Major Gifts, Annual Fund, Special Events, Grants, and Capital campaigns
• Prepare annual income plans with senior leadership and manage budgets and forecasts
• Provide staff leadership to fundraising committees and act as liaison with Fiscal Oversight
