Monterey Bay Aquarium is seeking a strategic Chief Development Officer to lead fundraising, donor engagement, and membership efforts in support of a forthcoming comprehensive campaign and strong operating support. Reporting to the CEO, the CDO will guide a high-performing development team and work with the Executive Leadership Team to translate strategy into action.

Competenze

• A minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience envisioning, developing, and implementing a successful and comprehensive development program in a fast-paced environment.
• Depth of knowledge of best practices in development, including comprehensive campaign planning and donor engagement.
• Experience building upon an existing program to significantly increase philanthropic revenue.

• Define a comprehensive development vision and implement infrastructure to support fundraising, campaign readiness, and donor engagement across the Aquarium.
• Lead frontline fundraising, solicit major gifts, and steward donors while guiding a frontline team to exceed targets.
• Partner with the CEO and Board of Trustees to shape strategy, campaigns, and cross-functional initiatives to advance mission impact.
