Job summary

Mercy College seeks a Vice President of Institutional Advancement to lead fundraising strategy and donor relations. You will drive annual, major, and planned gifts, manage a portfolio of major donors, and coordinate with the MercyOne Foundation and Alumni Association to advance the college’s mission.

You will work with the President and Cabinet to develop long-term fundraising plans, oversee donor stewardship, and help expand corporate and foundation support.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in public administration, business administration, or related field from a regionally accredited college or university.
  • Five or more years of progressive experience in fundraising and working knowledge of fundraising strategies and operations in a large, complex advancement unit or organization.
  • CFRE certification (preferred).
  • Master’s or doctorate/terminal degree in public administration, higher education, business or related field (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Lead the creation of a fundraising strategy; create plans and campaigns to meet goals.
  • Grow annual, major, and planned gifts and expand donor base across constituencies.
  • Manage donor portfolios and facilitate President’s engagement with major donors.
  • Advise on relationship-building and fundraising opportunities to optimize time and impact.
  • Coordinate with MercyOne Foundation and Alumni relations; supervise scholarship distributions.
  • Collaborate with leadership to monitor and forecast the development office budget.
