Job summary

Washington Area Community Investment Fund (WACIF) seeks a Chief Development Officer to lead development and fundraising, expanding partnerships and resources to pursue strategic priorities. Reporting to the CEO and serving on the Executive Team, the CDO will cultivate philanthropic and corporate relationships to strengthen WACIF’s funding base and impact.

Qualifications

Advanced degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; MBA/CPA/CFA preferred.
15+ years progressive senior financial management experience in financial institutions or related sectors.
Strong communication across all stakeholder levels and transparent decision-making.
Experience leading organizational change initiatives and process improvements.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects and allocate resources effectively.
Experience engaging with private/public debt investors through sourcing, due diligence and closing.
Experience with catalytic capital structures and blended financing models.
Experience making credit risk decisions and serving on risk/investment committees.
Leadership of finance teams in growing organizations.
Knowledge of nonprofit revenue recognition (ASU 2014-09 606; ASU 2018-08).
Compliance-focused with strong analytical skills; risk-aware.
Experience in CDFI/financial services or investment management is a plus.
Motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work under pressure.
