Job summary

YWCA Northeastern NY (YWCA NENY) seeks a Chief Development Officer to lead the development and execution of a comprehensive resource development strategy supporting a $700,000 annual fundraising target. Reporting to the CEO, the CDO will build donor pipelines, strengthen systems, and guide a high-performing development team.

The role balances executive leadership with hands-on fundraising, cultivating major gifts, foundations, and corporate partnerships while advancing the organization’s mission

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; nonprofit fundraising experience preferred.
• Seven+ years in progressive fundraising or development roles.
• Proven success in securing major gifts, grants, sponsorships, and diversified funding.
• Strong leadership, communications, and donor relations skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive resource development strategy with annual fundraising targets.
• Oversee a diversified fundraising program including major gifts, corporate sponsorships, grants, and events.
• Cultivate, solicit, and steward major donors and institutional supporters.
• Lead donor stewardship, reporting, and grant submissions with timely compliance.
• Represent YWCA NENY at events and in strategic community partnerships.
