Job summary

Second Helpings, Inc. seeks a Chief Development Officer to lead fund development, marketing, communications, and events.

This executive will develop and execute an integrated advancement strategy to grow revenue, strengthen donor and community relationships, elevate the Second Helpings brand, and support long-term sustainability. The CDO will lead the development team, set direction, build capacity, establish accountability, and ensure measurable results.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive fundraising, development, or communications experience with a track record of meeting goals.
• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or CFRE preferred.
• Significant leadership experience including hiring, coaching, and performance management.

Responsibilities

• Lead a comprehensive fundraising, marketing, communications, and events strategy.
• Develop and manage donor pipelines, major gifts, and institutional giving.
• Oversee grant strategy, reporting, and donor stewardship across portfolios.
• Collaborate with CEO, Board, and leadership to set strategic priorities and ensure accountability.
• Represent the organization to donors, partners, and the community.
