Job summary

Jewish Women's Archive (JWA) seeks a Chief Development Officer to lead fundraising and development strategy. You will partner with the CEO and senior staff, building relationships with boards, foundations, and individual donors to sustain and grow the $2M operating budget.

The role requires strategic leadership, hands-on fundraising, and a commitment to diversity and social justice, with a hybrid work model and opportunities across Boston and NYC areas.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in senior leadership and fundraising.
• Proven track record of increasing fundraising revenue and major gifts.
• Ability to articulate the organization’s mission to funders.
• Demonstrated donor relationship development and stewardship.

Responsibilities

• Lead all fundraising activities for JWA, including prospecting and managing major donors.
• Design and implement major donor strategy to fund campaigns and events.
• Support the CEO’s development efforts with donor strategies and moves management.
• Develop and execute donor appeals and grass-roots campaigns with communications staff.
• Manage foundation relations and craft grant proposals and reports.
• Cultivate board members as donors and oversee the development committee.
• Expand planned giving and oversee donor database and acknowledgments.
