Job summary

Saline County seeks a Sheriff Chief Deputy to serve as the chief operations law enforcement executive, supervising multiple divisions and over 100 employees. The role requires strong leadership, integrity, and a focus on compliance with Federal and State guidelines.

The incumbent reports to the Sheriff and drives policy, budgeting, and coordination with other agencies to ensure safety and efficient operations across Saline County’s Sheriff’s Office.

Qualifications

• Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities.
• Policy development and budget oversight experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversees day to day operations of the Sheriff's Office.
• Confers with the Sheriff on day-to-day activities.
• Coordinates with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies.
• Assists with budget and approves supply purchases for SCSO.
• Oversees the Detention Facility and ensures rights of detainees are protected.
