Job summary

County of Colusa is seeking an experienced law enforcement leader to serve as Assistant Sheriff, reporting to the Sheriff and guiding the operations of the Sheriff’s Office in Colusa County. The role includes coordinating divisions, supporting organizational priorities, and ensuring effective law enforcement services.

The Assistant Sheriff may act as Sheriff when assigned, with responsibilities spanning planning, policy development, personnel, budgeting, and day-to-day operations.

Qualifications

• Five years of full-time experience as a California Peace Officer, including at least three years in a supervisory capacity.

Responsibilities

• Lead and guide the Sheriff’s Office operations and divisions.
• Coordinate departmental planning, policy development, and budgeting.
• Serve as Acting Sheriff when assigned and provide leadership to the organization.
