Job summary

Mercury is seeking a Head of Data Engineering & Platform to build a scalable data foundation that powers analytics, AI, and internal tools. You will lead a high-performing data engineering team and shape the platform architecture, tooling, and governance across the company.

You will partner with Security, Legal, Compliance, and Privacy teams to ensure regulatory standards are met while enabling rapid product development and data-driven decision-making.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of relevant experience, including 5+ years leading data or engineering teams.
• Architected modern data platforms at scale, including data foundations, semantic layers, metadata, and platform capabilities.
• Experience partnering with Security, Legal, Compliance, and Privacy teams to meet standards.

Responsibilities

• Build, lead, and develop a high-performing team of data and analytics engineers for Mercury's core data infrastructure.
• Define and execute Mercury's long-term data platform strategy and reusable data products.
• Build a platform that makes Mercury's data discoverable and usable by people and AI systems.
• Establish foundations for a trusted, resilient data platform with reliability, observability, data quality, governance, privacy, and security.
• Partner with Engineering, Product, Data Science, Security, and Infrastructure leaders to accelerate product development and decision-making.
