Job summary

Pacific Community Ventures (PCV) in Oakland is seeking a data-driven Chief Data Officer to lead the Data and AI Hub, shape governance, and advance advanced analytics across our lending and mentoring programs. You will manage data strategy, ML/AI tool adoption, and a cross‑functional team dedicated to responsible technology and impact.

You will report to the CEO and help scale PCV’s mission, expanding affordable financial services and good jobs in underserved communities through data-driven

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in data science or business analytics.
• 10+ years hiring/managing professionals in data/IT.
• Proven public speaking, grant writing, and fundraising experience.
• Proficiency in Python, R, SQL; big data analytics.
• Experience with ML frameworks (scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
• Expertise in data visualization with Tableau/PowerBI/Looker.
• Experience building data warehouses with Salesforce, Databricks, Snowflake, AWS, Azure, GCP.
• Bachelor’s in analytical field; MBA/Master’s preferred.
• Growth-minded leader with collaborative, ethical approach.

Responsibilities

• Oversee data architecture and governance ensuring data quality and security.
• Lead analytics to support executive decisions and program innovation.
• Develop AI-enabled tools and predictive insights for programs.
• Advance ML/AI capabilities and responsible use policies.
• Build revenue-generating data consulting services and partnerships.
• Coach and develop data and software teams; align with executives.
• Represent PCV as a thought leader in data strategy and AI ethics.
• Ensure organizational culture supports PCV’s 10-year growth plan.
• Support cross-functional teams with sound data governance.
