Job summary

CACI seeks a Chief Data Engineer to lead the design and delivery of an enterprise data platform supporting DHS OIG investigations, audits, and oversight data. You will architect cloud-based pipelines, migrate legacy ETL to modern tools, ensure data quality and governance, and enable AI-ready datasets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree plus extensive experience in data engineering, data architecture, or software engineering; alternative paths allowed.
• Proven leadership in delivering enterprise-scale data integration and ETL/ELT solutions.
• Deep expertise in cloud data engineering using Azure services (Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Data Lake, Synapse) or equivalent cloud platforms.
• Hands-on experience with data pipelines using Python, SQL, PySpark, and modern data integration frameworks.
• Strong background in data architecture, data modeling, data quality, and production pipeline operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, testing, and implementation of enterprise data ingestion and transformation pipelines.
• Oversee migration from legacy ETL tools to cloud-native data integration solutions.
• Architect scalable, metadata-driven pipelines supporting batch, streaming, and incremental updates.
• Lead operations, automation, monitoring, and data quality for production pipelines and ensure SLA compliance.
• Collaborate with DHS data fabric, Delta Sharing, APIs, and secure transfer mechanisms while preserving data governance and independence.
