Job summary

CVS Health is seeking an Executive Director of Cyber Defense Operations to lead enterprise detection, response, and incident management. You will oversee the SOC and CSIRT, define strategy, and advance maturity through threat intel, automation, and analytics.

You will partner with business, technology, legal, and compliance leaders, manage global teams, provide executive insights, and drive AI/automation initiatives to improve speed, precision, and resilience across the organization.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in technical cybersecurity.
• 8+ years in a leadership role managing global detection and response teams.
• 5+ years developing and executing a long-term strategic vision for security operations at an enterprise scale.
• 5+ years leveraging automation and orchestration (SOAR) to improve SOC efficiency.
• 2+ years applying AI/ML to security data for anomaly detection, threat modeling, and predictive security.

Responsibilities

• Lead the SOC and CSIRT operations and incident response across the enterprise.
• Develop and maintain Detection and Response strategy, maturity model, and roadmaps.
• Mentor cross-functional teams and collaborate with executives across Product, Engineering, and Security.
• Coordinate with legal, compliance, and public relations during high-impact incidents.
• Drive automation and orchestration initiatives to improve operational efficiency.
