American Express Global Business Travel is seeking a Director, Cyber Defense to guide CSIRT, CTI, Detection Engineering, and DSI while protecting travelers, colleagues, and data. This hands-on leadership role requires scale experience, incident command expertise under pressure, and the ability to build proactive detection and intelligence programs.

Formación

• 10+ years in cybersecurity, incl. 5+ years leading incident response or security operations
• Experience overseeing sensitive investigations involving data privacy, insider risk, or employee conduct
• Familiarity with threat intelligence practices shaping detection priorities
• Experience with detection engineering concepts: SIEM/EDR content development, use case design
• Experience managing managers and building teams, not just individual contributors

Responsabilidades

• Lead four cyber defense teams (CSIRT, CTI, Detection Engineering, DSI) as a single function with shared priorities
• Set vision, roadmap, and budget for cyber defense capabilities and report progress to senior leadership
• Hire, coach, and develop team leads and analysts with a bench for high‑pressure incidents
• Own incident response program end to end, including playbooks, classifications, escalation, and reviews
• Direct threat intelligence collection, analysis, and distribution to inform detection content
• Set priorities for detection content development across SIEM/EDR/cloud/identity
• Lead investigations into potential data access or disclosure, including privacy cases involving colleagues
• Champion automation and orchestrations to reduce manual triage
• Collaborate with Legal, Privacy, HR, and executives on sensitive cases
• Build relationships with outside counsel, forensics, and law enforcement
