Job summary

Astra is seeking a Head of Compliance to lead and scale our enterprise compliance program across financial crimes, payments compliance, privacy, security assurance, and governance. This hands-on leader will translate complex requirements into scalable controls and collaborate with Product, Engineering, Legal, Operations, and bank partners to support responsible growth.

Reporting to the COO, this role shapes Astra’s risk framework and strategy.

Qualifications

8+ years of compliance experience in fintech, payments, banking, or financial services, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
Experience leading a BSA/AML compliance program at a financial institution, payments company, or fintech.
Experience overseeing multiple compliance and assurance programs, including BSA/AML, fraud, privacy, SOC 2, PCI DSS, or payment‑network compliance.
Ability and willingness to travel up to ~15% annually.

Responsibilities

Lead Astra's Enterprise Compliance Program by setting strategy, risk assessments, controls, testing, training, and reporting.
Oversee Payments and Bank Partner Compliance, including sponsor-bank relations and compliance with ACH/NACHA, card networks, RTP, FedNow.
Lead GRC, Audit, and Privacy Programs—SOC 2, PCI DSS, privacy requirements, audits, and vendor risk.
Partner Across the Business to advise on compliance for new products and payment flows.
