Preferred Qualifications
- 5 years of experience in the communications or marketing field.

- Employees work indoors and are protected from weather conditions or contaminants, but not necessarily occasional temperature changes.
Job Duties:
- Demonstrates experience in writing, editing, and distributing professional communications to internal and external audiences to ensure all Hamilton County Juvenile Court (HJCJ) employees have access to accurate and consistent information.
- Establish and manage an internal communication newsletter for all HCJC employees that will be shared regularly and include pertinent, timely, useful, and interesting information; Identify messaging that informs, educates, and demonstrates how the HCJC serves, uplifts, and improves the lives of court-involved youth and families.
- Review and evaluate current communication strategies and infrastructure to determine effectiveness and make updates, changes as appropriate.
- Identify grant funding opportunities for HCJC in collaboration with the Presiding Judge and oversee the grant application process.
- Demonstrates experience communicating with community partners, stakeholders, agencies, organizations, and members of the public.
- Serves as the contact for all media inquiries and acts as spokesperson for the HCJC at the discretion of the Presiding Judge and Court Administrator; support HCJC Judges and Administrators with internal messaging and external communication opportunities including internal memos, letters, speaking engagements, media interviews, etc.
- Create opportunities to proactively share messaging that supports the mission, goals, and objectives of HCJC, with a variety of audiences including community leaders and news media.
- Maintain website reviews and implement updates to ensure that the HCJC site is easy to navigate, contains consistent and accurate information adheres to Hamilton County brand standards, and reflects the mission, vision and values of the HCJC.
- Provide crisis communication direction and messaging in collaboration with HCJC judges and administration.
- Monitor national news for trending topics around juvenile justice topics that may impact or advance the work of HCJC.
- Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance.
- Other duties as administratively assigned.
Summary of KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES required for the position:
- Must possess computer/technical skills/abilities, which include: Ability to use computer software, including proficiency with the Microsoft office suite, with strong knowledge of spreadsheets, database, and presentation software usage. Ability to learn and proficiently operate a variety of systems currently used by Juvenile Court to collect and report data; ability to make recommendations about current software systems and/or new software systems related to data collection and reporting.
- Must possess project/process management skills/abilities, which include: Ability to display a high level of initiative, effort, and commitment by completing assignments efficiently and with minimal supervision; Ability to assess and prioritize needs and work effectively within time restrictions and to be detail-oriented, well-organized, and able to plan for and coordinate a variety of tasks.
- Must possess written and oral communication skills/abilities, which include: Highly developed communication skills with the ability to communicate tactfully and effectively, both orally and in writing; Ability to explain complex concepts in a way that is easily understandable to others; Ability to write reports that summarize data and make recommendations in a meaningful, clear, concise, and accurate manner; Prepare and deliver presentations before specialized audiences.
- Must possess other knowledge skills/abilities, which include: Extensive knowledge of the programs and protocols utilized by Court systems; Knowledge of or ability to learn quality assurance techniques, procedures, principles, and evaluation methodologies; Ability to develop, monitor, and assess performance measures; Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
