Job summary

DSA is seeking a Chief/Cloud Architect to lead the technical architecture for secure AWS IL5 operations, with emphasis on tenant isolation, capacity planning, modernization, and mission-aligned decisions.

The role serves as the Government’s primary technical counterpart to ensure secure, scalable, and cost-aware solutions that meet growth and mission requirements. Requires DoD-aligned certifications and active clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a technical field.
• DoD 8570/8140-aligned certification is required.
• Active Secret clearance is required.
• Minimum 10 years of enterprise systems architecture or cloud architecture experience.
• Minimum 5 years supporting biometric, intelligence, or high-availability mission systems.
• Experience with AWS IL5, multi-AZ architectures, and Infrastructure as Code.

Responsibilities

• Lead cloud architecture strategy for AWS IL5 environments supporting operational, test, development and modernization needs.
• Design and govern secure tenant isolation using account boundaries, network segmentation, identity controls, encryption, logging, and centralized protections.
• Support capacity planning, performance engineering, resilience, backup and recovery, environment provisioning, and cloud cost optimization.
• Provide technical leadership for modernization trade studies, architecture reviews, technology refresh, and cloud migration planning.
• Coordinate with cybersecurity, DevSecOps, systems engineering, and mission application teams to ensure secure, supportable architecture decisions.
• Develop architecture documentation, diagrams, decision records, and Government-facing technical recommendations.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, cybersecurity, or a related technical field
