Job summary

Bald Cypress Builders in Lexington, SC, seeks a Director of Construction to lead residential design-build remodeling projects and scale the operation. This hands-on leadership role combines project management, team development, and client service to deliver high-quality work on schedule.

You will supervise the construction team, manage select projects, improve systems, and partner with ownership to grow capacity while maintaining a strong homeowner experience.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience managing construction projects, teams, schedules, and budgets.
• Residential remodel/design-build experience preferred.
• Strong client-facing communication and problem-solving ability.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day execution of active construction operations.
• Directly supervise and develop construction team members.
• Personally manage select remodel/addition projects with oversight across others.
• Set expectations around schedules, budgets, quality, and accountability.
• Coach Project Managers, Supervisors, Carpenters, and future team members.
• Collaborate with owners to increase capacity and improve systems.
• Coordinate with trade partners, designers, and internal teams.
• Maintain exceptional homeowner communication throughout projects.
• Identify solutions in difficult situations and keep projects on track.
• Improve workflows, documentation, and SOPs as the department grows.
• Monitor project performance and ensure quality aligns with expectations.
