Legal Services of the Hudson Valley seeks an Attorney in Charge to supervise Supervising Attorneys, Staff Attorneys, paralegals, and staff. The role ensures quality and quantity of legal representation, coordinating with Grants and Finance to meet grant requirements, and maintaining high professional standards across diverse civil matters in the lower and mid-Hudson Valley.

Qualifications

• Admission to NYS Bar.
• Two+ years of supervisory experience.
• Six+ years of legal and litigation experience.
• Experience litigating in state and federal courts.
• Commitment and experience in public interest law.
• Experience supervising and mentoring others.
• Demonstrated leadership ability.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in languages other than English is desirable.

Responsabilités

• Oversee daily office operations and staff of attorneys, paralegals, and support personnel.
• Assign cases, review and evaluate casework from intake to closing.
• Ensure adherence to program and case handling standards and funder requirements.
• Collaborate with Grants and Finance on grant compliance and staffing.
• Evaluate staff and guide professional development.
• Plan and coordinate program services with management.
• Spearhead impact and/or affirmative litigation.
• Foster teamwork and communication.
