Job summary

Happen Bank is seeking a Chief Architect to define and lead the bank’s enterprise architecture strategy, standards, and infrastructure architecture. This hands-on leadership role includes designing cloud platforms, reviewing critical decisions, and creating reference architectures for secure, scalable delivery by Engineering teams.

You’ll lead the Federation Architecture Guild, mentor senior architects, and ensure alignment across business units, while balancing delivery velocity with regulatory

Qualifications

• 13+ years in software or infra engineering with 5+ years in principal/head-of-architecture roles.
• Bachelor's degree or higher, or equivalent experience.
• Hands-on infra architecture in public cloud environments (AWS preferred).
• Experience leading architects across organizational boundaries.
• Regulated financial services experience and familiarity with OCC/FFIEC/BSA/AML expectations.

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain enterprise target-state architecture aligning long-term tech vision with business objectives.
• Lead architecture review processes with clear context, alternatives, and tradeoffs.
• Maintain enterprise technology standards catalog and decision-making authority.
• Partner with Security, Risk, and Regulatory to incorporate security and regulatory considerations.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership across cloud topology, networks, compute, and DR planning.
• Develop reference architectures and working implementations for reuse by Engineering teams.
