Job summary

InterSystems seeks a strategic and technically hands-on Director of Development to lead the Data Models engineering team and core platform architecture initiatives for the IRIS data platform. You will drive architectural modernization, operationalize initiatives, and guide cross-functional execution to improve scalability and customer value.

You will mentor engineering leaders, collaborate with product and infrastructure teams, and shape long-term platform strategy from Boston, MA.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of software engineering experience with large-scale platform or infrastructure leadership.
• Deep expertise in distributed systems, databases, and software architecture.
• Proven track record of architectural modernization and large technical transformations.
• Strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, CS, Mathematics, Physics, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Identify and drive high-impact technical and organizational improvements for the Data Models organization.
• Lead initiatives from concept through operationalization and long-term ownership.
• Guide end-to-end platform architecture decisions to support scalability and maintainability.
• Mentor and develop engineering leaders and contributors.
• Build partnerships across engineering, product, infrastructure to deliver cross-team initiatives.
