Job summary

Palo Alto Networks is seeking a Distinguished Engineer for Endpoint Engineering to serve as the chief architect for our access agent platform, spanning GlobalProtect, Prisma Access Agent, ADEM and more across Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS and Android.

Qualifications

• Seasoned leadership in endpoint systems development, networking, or OS-level software.
• Proven cross-product architecture experience adopted across product groups.
• Deep OS internals knowledge across Windows/macOS/Linux (kernel/driver, XPC/IOKit, Netlink, etc.).
• Experience refactoring large C/C++ codebases into modular components.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to align senior engineers and executives.

Responsibilities

• Define the Platform Architecture: Architect a high-performance, modular core for networking, crypto, configuration, and telemetry.
• Establish Secure Seams & Extensions: Create localized plugin models for new auth methods and protocol extensions across platforms.
• Systemic Quality & Reliability by Design: Standardize peer identity, least-privilege decomposition, error handling, and memory safety into CI/CD gates.
• Pioneer AI-Native Workflows & Supportability: Integrate AI-driven analysis, automated crash triage, and regression verification into build pipelines.
• Drive Technical Excellence: Set engineering standards, author ADRs, mentor talent, and represent strategy with customers and partners.
