San Bernardino County's Office of the Assessor-Recorder-County Clerk seeks a Chief Appraiser to lead divisions such as Valuations, Assessment Services, Appeals or Business Personal Property. This role involves directing a large team engaged in the appraisal of real and personal property for tax assessment purposes.

The incumbent may be assigned responsibility for specialized areas and will testify as an expert witness in matters before boards.

Qualifikationen

• Five (5) years of full-time appraisal experience for assessment purposes with two (2) years in supervision.
• Three (3) years in commercial/industrial or personal property appraisal and auditing.
• Ten (10) years of progressively responsible appraisal experience including management level.
• Experience representing the Assessor at Assessment Appeal Board hearings.
• Completion of San Bernardino County MLA (Management & Leadership Academy).

Aufgaben

• Direct a large staff in the appraisal of real and personal property for tax assessment.
• Analyze and implement new legislation affecting appraisal and assessment.
• Appear on behalf of the Assessor as an expert witness in hearings.
• Develop and present training materials for staff.
