Job summary

Deepgram is seeking a Head of AI Enablement Engineering to own the mission of making AI leverage real across the company. You will lead hands-on building of agents and workflows, set standards, and establish reusable patterns that scale.

This is a build-first leadership role with executive sponsorship. You’ll evaluate tools, design guardrails with Security and Platform, and grow a distributed network of champions while partnering with engineering, People Ops, and data teams.

Qualifications

• Strong engineering background with hands-on ability to build production-quality agents and automations.
• Deep fluency with modern AI tooling — prompts, retrieval, MCP/agent tooling, orchestration.
• Proven track record driving technology adoption and changing how people work at scale.
• Ability to operate across business and technical functions and influence without direct authority.
• Strong product and platform instincts — treat enablement as a product with users and adoption.
• Excellent communication — able to demo, document, evangelize, and report outcomes to executives.

Responsibilities

• Own AI enablement engineering strategy, standards, and hands-on building across Deepgram.
• Evaluate, prototype with, and decide on AI tools, agents, models, and orchestration layers; avoid tool sprawl.
• Build reference implementations: reusable agents and skills, MCP servers, paved-road workflows, libraries.
• Set and run the company-wide AI adoption strategy with measurable productivity and quality metrics.
• Partner with Platform/Internal Tools, Security, and Data to embed guardrails into platforms.
• Build and lead a distributed champions network and grow a small central team.
• Collaborate with People Ops on AI-native onboarding and fluency.
• Stay ahead of AI developments and translate capabilities into practical Deepgram-ready practices.
